Weldon & Mary Patterson recently attended the annual meeting of the TN chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) in Chicago. This is Federal District Judge Curtis Collier, Eastern District of Tennessee, Chattanooga, receiving an award for judicial excellence. The award was given in recognition of Judge Collier's significant contributions to The Teacher Law School program. This is a program ABOTA presents throughout the nation to provide civics training to teachers regarding the right to trial by jury. Judge Collier has contributed greatly to bringing such programs to fruition in Tennessee in concert with Federal Court interests in educating the public on the court system and its role in protecting constitutional rights.
