When Medical Malpractice Worsens an Auto Accident Injury

Who should be held liable when auto accident injuries are compounded by Medical Malpractice? In normal circumstances, the driver found to be at fault is the one who is responsible for the accident and who will be asked to pay damages to the injured party. However, if for example, the paramedics make a serious error that worsens the injury or an ER visit results in negligence, is it fair for the driver to pay more for more challenging injuries?
