Knoxville Emergency Crews Respond to I-75 South Crash Near Callahan Drive

Knoxville, TN (January 7, 2026) - Emergency services attended a collision on I-75 South close to Callahan Drive at approximately 4:19 am on the morning of Wednesday, January 7. Squad 14 and Tanker 1 from the Knoxville Fire & Rescue teams were swift to respond. With the collision occurring along a particularly busy stretch of the I-75 South with a combination of both commercial and commuter traffic in the early morning, multiple injuries were reported, with several individuals treated by paramedics and fire personnel at the scene.

It is yet to be confirmed how many vehicles were directly involved in the accident, but in addition to those treated at the scene, dispatch confirmed that at least one individual required further evaluation and was transferred to the hospital. Emergency crews remained on the scene to support traffic control for a short time following the incident.
