Vehicle Emissions Testing to End in 5 Tennessee Counties

BVBLaw

Vehicle emissions testing will end in five Middle Tennessee counties in January 2022 as the EPA believes this is consistent with the federal Clean Air Act .

The counties in which emissions testing will cease are Hamilton, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson, and Wilson. However, Davidson County and Metro Nashville have voted to continue emissions testing. In the counties where emissions testing will end, anyone registering a vehicle on or before January 13, 2022 will still need to get the vehicle emissions test, but those registering after that date will not.
