The family of the teenager shot and killed at a high school in Knoxville will be represented by renowned civil rights and personal injury lawyer Ben Crump.

Mr. Crump will represent the family of Anthony Thompson Jr. Thompson, the 17-year-old shot and killed in the bathroom of Austin-East High School. Crump has previously represented the families of Breonna Taylor and Trayvon Martin and says he seeks to advocate for justice for the family.

Knoxville's mayor has requested that the footage of the incident that left the student dead and a police officer wounded be made public, but local prosecutors have thus far denied the request. The preliminary examination indicates the bullet that struck Officer Adam Willson was not fired from Mr. Thompson's handgun.
